DiaSense.AI ("we") helps people with type 1 diabetes understand their glucose. We handle health information, so here is exactly what we collect, why, and what you control.
In short
- We collect only the data you choose to connect or enter.
- We never sell your data and never use it for advertising.
- We read from your connected sources. We never write back to them.
- You can see, export or delete your data at any time.
What we collect
Account
An account identifier from Sign in with Apple, your email if you share it, and the devices you use, so we can send notifications.
Health and wellness data
- Glucose from your CGM (Dexcom Share, LibreLinkUp, Nightscout or Apple Health).
- Insulin and carbs, for example from Loop through Nightscout, or Apple Health.
- Glucose values you enter yourself.
- Meals you log, including photos and the estimates made from them.
- Wearable data you connect, such as sleep, heart rate, heart rate variability and activity.
Service logins
Dexcom Share and LibreLinkUp need your login for that service. We store it encrypted and use it only to read your data. For Nightscout we store only a one way hash of the secret. Apple Health needs no password; you control access in iOS Settings.
This website
If you join the beta or contact us, we store what you type (such as your name, email, phone and message) and the country the request came from. We use it only to contact you. This site uses no advertising or tracking cookies.
How we use it
- To show your data and explain what happened.
- To learn your personal patterns so explanations fit you.
- To keep the service secure, reliable and working.
- To contact you about the beta and your account.
DiaSense.AI uses AI to word its explanations. It can be wrong and does not replace your healthcare provider.
Who we share it with
Only service providers that help us run DiaSense.AI, and only what they need:
- Cloud hosting and network providers, including Cloudflare.
- AI and food recognition providers that process meal photos and generate explanations.
- Apple, for Sign in with Apple, notifications and Apple Health.
- Tools for secure configuration and error monitoring.
We share with people you choose, such as a family member, only when you set it up. We disclose information when the law requires it. We never sell your data.
Family accounts
Accounts are held by adults. A parent or legal guardian can hold an account for a child and share it with them. The account holder controls what is shared, with whom, and can remove access at any time. Shared access is view only.
Security
- Data is encrypted in transit.
- Service logins and meal photos are encrypted at rest, with a separate key per user for photos.
- Database access is limited to your own account.
- Our logs are designed to exclude health information.
If a security incident affects your data, we will tell you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is active, so DiaSense.AI can learn your patterns. An unconfirmed meal estimate expires after 24 hours. Beta and contact requests are kept until the beta ends or you ask us to delete them. When you delete your account, we delete your data, except records the law requires us to keep.
Where it is stored
Your data may be processed in countries other than yours, including by the providers above. We use providers that protect it to the standards in this policy.
Your rights
- See the data we hold about you, and get a copy.
- Correct it, or ask us to delete it.
- Withdraw consent and disconnect any source at any time.
- Complain to your local data protection authority.
To use any of these, write to hello@diasense.ai. We reply within 30 days.
Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we will tell you in the app or by email before it applies.
